Our first objective is to establish exactly what kind of color you would like for your project. We have a lot of experience controlling how our stains perform with many different types of wood and insist on getting the right tone to complete your new windows. The most common approach is to match an existing color.

The process after the color has been decided upon.

  • Typically we stain first after the hardware has been removed.
  • Then we apply a clear sealer.
  • It’s at this point that the nail holes get filled with a color matched putty.
  • Light sanding.
  • At least two more clear finish coats are applied to match existing sheen and depth.
  • Replace hardware.
  • Polish and detail.
  • Clean glass.
  • Clean up.

The odor is so minimal that ten minutes after we have left one would not know that any finishing had been done.
